For most of our stay, the resort only had four or six (diving) guests, except one day whe a dozen Indonesian gentlemen landed up from Banjarmasin armed with high powered telescopes and some other star-gazing gear.. or rather, moon gazing. Their aim was to spot the new moon, so as to be able to predict the time that the full moon would rise, a few days hence, on Ramadan. I found it interesting that the observations were made from the wooden jetty deck, a shaky, vibrating structure... maybe the scopes had super IS.
